History Worth Playing

Briefing

The Berlin videogame museum launched a small video game that gained prominence by using an obsolete technology in the distribution of games: radio waves.

Proposal

Radio, poster, print, direct marketing action, website and a radio station in the museum were actually video games, with which people could play and understand the technological and cultural evolution of video games.

Contribution

The notoriety of the campaign is closely linked to the essence of the museum, which has turned obsolete technological uses of the history of video games into a new way of communicating.

Production

We developed a 2kb machine code game, compatible with the ZX Spectrum, a computer that emitted a peculiar sound when loading its games: that of the code recorded on the cassette tapes that stored them.
